PLANTAIN BAJJI

Bajji is the most common and important snack in south India. If any important person comes to our home or any function in the home at Tamilnadu, it won't get complete without bajji.

Ingredients

Plantain - 1
Besan flour - 1/2 cup
Rice flour -2 tbs
corn flour - 2 tsp
red chilli powder - 3/4 tbs
Hing powder - a pinch
salt - as required
Water - as required.
Oil - for deep fry.

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients except oil and plantain. Consistency must be like dosa batter. Neither too thick nor too thin. It should be in the correct stage.
  2. If you don't want the skin of the plantain, peel it else keep it as it is. Cut plantain into thin slices.
  3. Dip all the slices into the batter in the medium heated oil and fry it until it gets golden brown and cooked inside.
  4. Like this do all the slices and serve it with coconut chutney or with ketch up or as it is.
